99 F150 5.4L Red Line?

So I noticed something the other day... My Tachometer doesn't have a red line on it, wtf?

Can I really safely bury my RPMs? Where should the red line be?

I would not rev it over 5200 or so - the torque converter can't handle it.

The PCM has a rev limiter programmed in it so you are not supposed to be able to over rev the engine.

ah, so i could just drive it hard and the truck will decide where to stop?
not that i plan on beating my truck to death... i just don't want to accidentally overstep my boundaries.

the RPMs go up to 6000, so i sort of just decided that 5000 was the redline.

The torque converter can take any RPM that the engine can run. There is a rev limiter that will keep the engine (power on) from exceeding the speed that anything connected to it can run.

Just leave it in Drive - it will take care of itself.

Ford does not recommend spinning the factory torque over 5400 RPM due to ballooning.

That's true, and the fatory rev limiter is going to keep the engine from spinning over 5400 RPM.

Cool

HI!... The factory converter is junk. It fails quickly if revving over 6000RPM. I ballooned 4 of them in 4 years. Now I run a P.I converter and have no issues.

thats a funny one lol

But if you ballon one do you spill trany fluid and stuff ?

because my tranny is makeing alot of noise and in first gear the truck wants
to come to a stop...I have to give it gas to move like 1/3 of the pedal... I
was woundering if thats what could have happen..

Plus my tranny spit fluid out... and how can it spit fluid out if im not overfilled..

my gaskets on my t-case look ok...

what would make the fluid come out...
