'04 F-150 4x4 4R75E tranny won't down shift

Does anyone else have this problem?

Driving down the road, cruising at about 45 in 4th (od), let off the gas to coast with traffic, traffic speeds back up so I press the gas to accelerate (now going about 40 mph) and the tranny doesn't down shift, instead it SHUDDERS really badly until I get up to 50mph. There are only 2 ways to get it to down shift out of od, turn the OD off or floor the gas to make it down shift, but if I do that, it usually goes to 2nd gear. Now when I'm coasting if my speed drops below 40 to maybe 37-38 it will go down to 3rd and I can accelerate normally... It's really annoying because traffic will flow around 45 - 50 and if I'm going 45 and press the gas to speed up just to keep up w/ the flow it shudders... Kinda annoying bc I can't keep a constant speed at 45.

Now, my girl friend has the same truck, same year, same tranny, but it's only 2wd. Her's doesn't do it and it has about 10K more miles on it than mine does.

Oh, and when I had it into the Dealer it was "normal opperation"

This may have something to do with the TPS (throttle position sensor) being out of range.

You can check it with a volt ohm meter. With the key in the on position and the throttle fully closed you want to see right around .98v and not more than a couple hundredths of a volt on either side of that. I have taken the sensors off and 'adjusted' them with a drill through the sleeves for the screws that hold it in position.
