Well Iv went through 3 4R70Ws in my truck. All were built to handle 1000 HP.
So I just bit the bullet and spent the money on a new BTS 4R100.
Hopefully this will be the last time for a long time! lol

Do you have a 4R100 or a 4R70W?
I think the best converter and what most guys are going with is the PI converter. http://www.converter.com/index.htm From one performance converter to the PI converter I took over 4 10ths of my 1/4 mile time.They say compared to stock you could pic up 1& 1/2 seconds.

I did have to get some more parts to do the swap like.4r100 wire-harness/dipstick tube/cross-member/Then the computer will have to have a Lightning program in it to operate the tranny.

I am going to suggest talking to Mike Troyer to see what he suggests. I think he may know someone that can help you.

It will be a lot cheaper to have your tranny rebuilt!
Tranny=$3000
PI TC =$900
Core deposit=$1000. Witch is returnable if you can find an old 4R100 for cheep.
+ about $500 two way shipping.
On other parts Iv spent about 3 or $400.
Then there will be the price of shortening the driveshaft and installing it all.
I could have 7 or 8000 in it before I'm done.

Try your local Ford dealer if money is tight. When I checked a year and a half ago, a factory reman was about $ 1,700 with a 36k / 3 year warranty.

If there is more performance in the budget try dirtydog for converters and trans parts.

I think it might again be a wise thing for me to suggest talking to Troyer. I know that you will at the very least get some no-nonsense answers and suggestions, if not find exactly what you are looking for.
