***** eff'n tranny wont shift :(
1993 ford f-150
AOD
2x4
my bud was off roading his truck... went through puddle....
now his tranny won't shift out of 1rst...
Suspect its a Vac line of some sort, however I'm not too familiar with his truck...
He does not have a shift modulator on the tranny...
But I read online that a "throttle valve" on the sideof the TB has some effect on shifting... theres a vac line that runs off the TB to a little black box (near the batt) and then to the rear of the truck along the frame... that blk box is caked with mud and it is also missing 1 of the 2 caps that were on top...
I ideas?
suggestions?

Is it an AOD? Possible for a '93, but rare. The shifter display for an AOD is PRN(D)D1, no overdrive lockout button on the end of the shifter, and a T tranny code on the door jam sticker.
Or, is it the E4OD with the shifter of PRN(D)21, an overdrive lockout button, 20 bolt pan, and E for the tranny code?

Yup, thats an AOD for sure, don't see that too often at all on the '92 and '93.
Unfortunatly the AOD is also not my area of expertice, and I haven't had to work on mine in the '88 bronc yet, but two things come to mind. It morphed into a AODEAD, or the TV cable was knocked out of adjustment. I'll look around for instructions on how to readjust it for ya
