Question re-installing trans.

I am putting my trans. back in my truck(99 F150 6cl.) and I have gotten it back up no the motor with about an inch to go (no jack and by myself... wont happen again...) do I just use the bolts to pull it back up or should it meet the back of the motor easily? I also installed the converter to the flywheel first and the trans. went back on with cinameters to go.is this a problem?

Pull the transmission and torque converter out.

Install the torque converter on the transmission. You need to spin it many times to get it to seat on the shafts. When it's fully seated it will be inside the bellhousing except for the studs. Use a straight edge across the bellhousing. It should not touch the torque converter.

You'll need to spin the torque converter again to align the studs with the holes in the flexplate. Don't install the nuts on the converter studs until the transmission is bolted to the engine.
