rebuilt tranny

I know this does not pertain to ford, but my work buddy has a problem and I need your opinion.
He has a 1993 Dodge Ramcharger, he burnt the tranny and had to be rebuilt and a local trans shop.
Now after getting it back he told me that they bypassed the main radiator and is tied into a trans cooler in front of the radiator.
He called the shop to see if they made a mistake, their reply was
NO it was bypassed on purpose.
I looked myself and sure enough the main radiator has two nipples sticking out with no tie in.
Please Help!

Please help with what?

You stated what the shop did, but didn't state what the problem is. I don't see anything that needs help. Please explain.

More info

When you purchase a truck w/o tow package, it comes stock with no added transmission cooler, the trans fluid is normally cooled through the main front radiator.
If you purchased it with tow package, the transmission fluid lines would still go through the main front radiator PLUS an additonal cooler small 12x12 cooling aux. trans. cooler.

What I'm trying to say above is that my buddy had his trans rebuilt. Now the transmission fluid lines no longer go to the main front radiator (nothing but the engine).

The only thing cooling off his transmission fluid now is : an added small 12x12 aux cooler. Is that enough?

Why would someone want to bypass the main front radiator, has anyone ever heard of this?

To a certain extent, the radiator is more of a pre-heater than a cooler for the transmission, in the winter it does more heating than cooling. It'll be fine with just the cooler, when it's hot out it'll prolly run cooler that way.
