Yes, I know.

I didn't even look at the dates, because I was so focused on my question. I mean, that guy may not even be on the boards anymore for all I know. But you are right... I made the lolz. Your comment made me chuckle. Thanks.

Does not matter how old the thread is, still applicable

The 2000 + MY the trailer tow install kit ( pigtail and relays ) was in the glove box, not too sure if the 97-99 MY F-150s were the same or not. This was from Ford, along with the trailer tow adapter install directions ( where to put the relays and the pigtail connector location ).

In the engine compartment, take a look at the relay panel that is along side the fuse panel. This is projectSHO89's picture and info on the 97-98 MY trucks.

I think the 00-03 MY ( and 04 Heritage & Lightning ) F-150 had the relay for the trailer tow battery & reversing lamp relays in the bag and they had to be installed by the owner.

BTW : The OP's last activity was 10-14-2008 09:16 PM, but that does not mean someone else would not answer your question.

Do you have a problem with the trailer tow adapter, or was this preparation question ?

Or are you talking about the two Relays next to the Engine Fuse Panel in an F-150,250, etc.? i.e. - Ford Relays for Towing?

Thanks guys.
There are NO relays sold with a brake controller. The relays/fuses if not installed should have been in a bag with the electric brake controller wiring harness when the truck was purchased NEW from Ford.
Don't go jump down the troat of a guy who sold you a brake controller. He has no way of knowing if your relays/fuses were installed or installed correctly.

Your relay location is correct, depending on the years you are referring to.
