hey guys, I have a 2011 f-150 and have all the wiring for towing. I am collecting all the parts for towing. Tranny cooler, electric brake, and the 7 and 4 pin harness. my question is. I purchased the harness #9L3Z-15A4!6-A which plugs right in. The dealer also sold me a fuse kit #Al3Z-15A416-A, told me that I would need this for the harness to work properly. My question is does anybody know where these so called fuses go. They don't look like regular fuses, one is a large square with 4 spade terminals and the other is pink and has what looks like two female sides. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

The pink one is a fuse. The black one is a relay.

Your fuse panel is located in the passenger foot well. The fuse belongs in there. If you look in your owners manual it will tell you which position. Trying to remember in the 2011 if the relay is in the same fuse panel.. If not the relay would go under the hood on the drivers side in a box next to the firewall and brake booster.

Do you mean the big box on the radiator with the fuses and relays. Do you know under what name I should look for in the manual. Would it say something like trailer harness Fuse space# 7?

That is all the fuses and relays for trailer tow on a 2011 F150 That I know of

 

Most of the factory kits that come in the glove box include a short harness with 2 fuses and a relay the fuses are for 30 amp trailer brake control 30 amp trailer battery charge and the relay is for battery charge all located in the power center under the hood. Even though my 09 came with the built in brake controller the fuses and harness were still in the glove box so I had to install them to use the brake controller.
