Post Trailer Plugs

I know this may be elementary but anyway.... I noticed that the tow package includes two connections, the standard 4 pin that all my trailers have, and then this round 7 pin connection. What is the purpose of the 7 pin connection?
Thanks

If you ever have brakes added to any of your trailers or purchase one that has brakes already installed you will find they all need or have the round seven pin connector in order to get power to the trailer brakes. You will also need a brake actuator installed in the truck. Look in your glovebox you will probably find the harness for the actuator.

The three additional circuits are for:
- electric trailer brakes
- trailer battery charge
- trailer backup lights

Thanks, I've always had boat trailers and small utility trailers without brakes, and I now have a larger boat trailer with surge brakes. Although I'm not likely to ever need the 7 pin, I at least now know what it's for!

wiring help

My 2001 F150 doesn't have the brake controller or aux power wires at the back of the truck(at least I can't find them). Anybody know where I can locate them to run them to the back of the truck?
