LONG TRAIN RUNNING!! 2006 XLT 5.4 Flex Fuel
I pull about 10K when vacationing, even pulled it up the Baker Grade to Cali!! Those who are around here know the
Baker Grade!! Miles long, 112+ in the summer. Now I have an oversized rad, brakes, air lift, autoglide slide hitch,
troyer active transmission cooler and a superchips programmer, but she handles it like a champ. I do not burn E85 when
towing, it is 105 octane but I find it has less power and poorer milage than high octane gas, probably due to some
egghead explanation about burn rates and compression rates of alcohol or something LOL, I use minimum 91 up to 100
octane gas (whatever is available at the time.) These trucks are animals when you treat em right!! And side note,
DO NOT USE E-FANS!!! I went thru 500 bones worth of E-Fan crap and overheated, went back to my clutch fan and shroud
with a DUAL core rad, that is the answer for towing heavy, not E-Fans!!!!

That engine must be singing a high note on the steep inclines!!! Its one thing to be able to get the weight up the mountain safely but a completely other task of getting it down the mountain safely. I would hate to see how that setup would react in an emergency condition??!! I like working my Ford hard too but with a load like that is why they make the Superduty.....

Just brought this one home, rear is squatting hard because of the way its parked, with the equalizer hitch and trailer brakes it pulls great.

Pulls very nice. No issues with turns as I can to over 90 deg turns on level ground. Using the 5th Airborne Sidewinder and standard hitch.

looks like that trailer is a little on the small side on that doat. should use a 3 Axel and one that supports more of the belly of the boat

we originally had a 33 ft triple axle but kept bending/breaking axles backing into our driveway, extremely tight 90 degree turn, very little room for both truck and trailer so we needed a shorter length trailer also... this trailer has 6500 lb axles, springs and hubs, load range E tires, brakes on all 4, tows behind my f250 like its not there. we also wanted a narrower frame so it is easy to load/unload at my work with the forklift.

I have used it to haul many of these around as well as a few boats and assorted trailers. In 12 yrs it has never let me down on towing something. Hauled a huge slew of cars out of a old barn and took them from NC to NY to my brother and brother in law. The truck rambled through the VA and PA mountains like it was nothing even with the weight of trailer and cars behind it.

Here is my current setup, truck is a bit overkill for the current boat. Will be picking up a light fifth wheel sometime in the next year.

2012 4x4 Supercrew Platinum Ecoboost with max tow package. Boat is a 2012 Tracker V-18 Combo with a 150hp Optimax :P
