You can fit up to 33" tires on stock tires with no lift. I wouldn't do it for any reason except looks, which a lot of people including myself put high priority on. You are more likely to lose fuel economy going with a larger tire than gaining, even though effective gear ratio is taller. Depending on how much you tow, you will notice decreased towing performance with 33" tires compared to the 30's.

thanks, is there anything i can do to get better performance with the 04 super crew with 5.4 everything still stock? wlsmithjr1960

Certain intakes, exhausts, and engine control tuner have been known to increase fuel economy, but on average by less than 1mpg. And the tuner will mean premium octane, so the net fuel costs is still higher. The single best thing is to add a vaccuum gauge and keep it low.

thanks: what about a hypertech 41043 or 42003 programmer, anybody know the benefits or nonbenefits? would it at least help when towing of driving around town? thanks wlsmithjr1960
