Do you have any dirrect questions about it?

If you have a Dodge Mega-Cab...you have no choice...short..short bed only.

B&W hitches makes a "Stinger" or hitch extender that goes in their hitch that positions the ball back 4". This is the difference in most applications between a short bed and a long bed install positions and in turning makes all the difference in the world.

I install about 3 of these hitches a day in all kinds of trucks...almost all of the very short bed trucks (under 6') need some kind of extension to keep trailers from crushing the cab on tight turns.

On the full size trucks with the 6.5' beds and longer a hitch extender are mostly not needed...the install position is far enough rearward to prevent mishaps on all but a few trailers....usually almost dirrectly above the rear axle.

I have always thought of my 6.5' bed as a 'Short-bed'

I guess with the Supercrew 5.5' bed out there now, I should start referring to mine as a 'medium bed' to avoid confusion.
