bah the 5.4 can tow fine, i just got back from california towing a 1980 corvette all the way back...its a 7000k round trip. so 3500 with the car on the trailer. the trailer is 2000lbs, i an not sure on the car but probl;y atleast 3000lbs. towed fine, just dont tow in overdrive or use cruise control and all is good. i have no problems with it since getting back.

Thanks guys for the replies. I got about 6 months to look for a good deal. I would love to find an enclosed trailer that could double as a storage unit when not in use. But, with the Jeep being so heavy I need to find one with tandem 5200 lb axles.

With most front engined cars, I just center the car on the rear axle, which seems to put about 10% of the weight of the car on the tongue, almost perfect. Easiest way to center is is usually when you sit in the car, you're somewhere around the center of the car, so just look out the window (or open the door) and drive to the center of the trailer's fender.
