auxiliary or replacement fuel tanks

Do they make such a thing for a Screw. I love my truck, but hate having to stop so often when towing. I have a 2001 Screw with 5.4. I would put one in the bed if it would work. Has anyone done one for these trucks? Just 10 to 30 gallons would help.

I don't know, but why don't you go to a machine shop and get them to build you a custom one. It would probably be cheaper, and they could put it under the truck, out of sight.

I'm not talking about some fuel transfer tank for a farm truck. I am thinking of something with baffles, guage in cab, and safe for my family. I have had such a thing before and looked for one for the Screw, but have not been able to find anything.

A tank mounted inside the frame rail under the truck will be a lot safer than one sitting in the bed. And the tanks I have are made out of 1/4 inch steel.

I don't see why you couldn't have baffles and a guage in a tank that is built to your specs. If you want them, put them in it. It's custom, remember?

Why have someone who has never built a tank build one when there are companies who do only that?

Actually a replacement tank would be fine. Just finding one is the problem. Is your tank fitted for a Screw? It may be what I am looking for.

Thanks for the reply.

No, one is for a PSD. 2 others are for fuel wagons. 2 others replaced the original plastic tanks that dry rotted over time. We have several "home-made" irrigation motor tanks. Like I said, it's custom. Made to fit anything. The machine shop can make them just like the factory does. But they can make them any shape size etc....
