I have towed with a V-6 5speed and I have had little problems. But some people say I am crazy pulling the weight that I have with it. Let me know if I can help. By the way I have been towing 4500lbs.

I've towed a 16 foot boat around and i must say it does a WONDERFUL job compaired to the POS motor they put in the rangers. Same boat, 1.2l difference in motor, 4 times the power. I can acelerate normal on an on ramp to the highway and hardly notice the boat is on there.

BTW, this is with a 4.2L v6. So your v8 should do wonders.
