towing my F150
towing my F150
Because of someproblems with my pickup I am going to haul to my parents house. They have a lot bigger building to work on it in with lots of room and I can also get some help from dad and brothers. I am just curious how you guys think I should get it there. It is about a 350 mile trip over a few hills. I also the 17" tires with the sport package
What do ya think?

If you flat tow it with all 4 wheels down, there are two ways you can do this depending on what type of 4x4 you have.
You might double check your specific manual, as this is from my 1997 F150......
Manual shift TC.
1.Put trans in P
2.shift the TC to N
3.Lockout the center disconnect by capping off one of the front axle vacuum motor lines.
4.Vehicle speed should not exceed 55 mph and there are no mileage restrictions.
Electrionic shift TC.
1.Put trans in N.
2.shift the TC to 2H.
3.Lockout the center disconnect by capping off one of the front axle vacuum motor lines.
4.Max speed 35 mph and only 50 miles max distance.
5.To be able to go 55 mph and unlimited miles, you MUST disconnect the rear drive shaft.
Your other option is towing it on a trailer then all you'll need is a bigger truck to tow it with...... Or a flat bed tow truck, but that'll cost some serious $$...
Good luck!
