The 302 was rebuilt last year and is not the original w/351 heads. This one has std. 302 heads. It is running 30 over Hypertectic flat top pistons, molly rings, Crane Energizer cam and lifters, Cloyes tru-roller, high volume oil pump (mistake), clevite bearings, and pertronix Ignitor2 igniton with 40k volt coil. It is still topped off by the original Rocherster 2jet. Would like a 4bbl, but not in the budget with a baby on the way, back surgery, and another Glastron under reconstruction in the back yard.
I tow a 1900lb 24ft car trailer with 3500lb cars once or twice a month to the track.
Here was from last weekend, I dragged my buddies Supercharged Z28 to Englishtown.

The Lightning tows awesome

Your truck is similiar to mine and your new trailer shouldn't make much of a difference. I understand that Trail Lite's pulls well. Not sure of your tow package but make sure you have a good trans cooler. A trans temp guage is a must especially if you are going to be in the Rockies.
I upgraded from a '94 20' Prowler (3750 dry) to a '01 26' Prowler (4350 dry) and the 26' pulls better. I did have to put helper springs in because of the extra hitch weight. The bed sank about 4' to 5"!! Now the truck and trailer are level. My truck didn't come with the factory tow option so I've had to add all the necessities.
It will be a great trip! Enjoy!

No problem, I tow in the rockies several times every year. I have the factory trans cooler etc and no temp gauge but I am looking to put one in when I find the time. As for the helper springs, I was considering the same but I will probably wait until next year for them.
Good to hear the longer trailer usually tows better.
