Maiden voyage May long weekend. This trailer is an upgrade from a '94 19' Prowler. The 24J towed better as well.

It runs about 42@4050rpm with plenty torque to pop right up on plane. That was with 36 gallons of gas, 4 adults, twisting a Hustler 3blade aluminum 19 pitch. I can run a little over 45 with 2 people turning a Michigan 3blade 21 pitch on the Mercruiser #1.

The 302 was rebuilt last year and is not the original w/351 heads. This one has std. 302 heads. It is running 30 over Hypertectic flat top pistons, molly rings, Crane Energizer cam and lifters, Cloyes tru-roller, high volume oil pump (mistake), clevite bearings, and pertronix Ignitor2 igniton with 40k volt coil. It is still topped off by the original Rocherster 2jet. Would like a 4bbl, but not in the budget with a baby on the way, back surgery, and another Glastron under reconstruction in the back yard.

This is my 1978 bowrider 20'. New to me this week!
It has a Ford 8-cyclinder 190 hp engine and it runs like a charm.
It has a Holley Carb - whatever that is?!

190

At 190 HP, it must be an OMC? Ford power plants in boats, a great combo

Just bought a 25' 2001 Trail Lite 7253 (GVWR 4754lbs)

Maiden voyage Edmonton Alberta to Vancouver British Columbia July 28th to August 8th!

We'll see how much difference the added weight makes...

2000 F150 s/cab, 4.6l, 3.55LS rearend
Class III tow package
K&N Filter
6050lbs GVWR
11500lbs GCVWR

Your truck is similiar to mine and your new trailer shouldn't make much of a difference. I understand that Trail Lite's pulls well. Not sure of your tow package but make sure you have a good trans cooler. A trans temp guage is a must especially if you are going to be in the Rockies.

I upgraded from a '94 20' Prowler (3750 dry) to a '01 26' Prowler (4350 dry) and the 26' pulls better. I did have to put helper springs in because of the extra hitch weight. The bed sank about 4' to 5"!! Now the truck and trailer are level. My truck didn't come with the factory tow option so I've had to add all the necessities.

It will be a great trip! Enjoy!

No problem, I tow in the rockies several times every year. I have the factory trans cooler etc and no temp gauge but I am looking to put one in when I find the time. As for the helper springs, I was considering the same but I will probably wait until next year for them.

Good to hear the longer trailer usually tows better.
