I tow a 21' inboard skiboat, approximately 4500 lbs ready to go skiing,

and a 7x16 dual axle box trailer that goes about 5000 lbs. My truck has no issues or complaints towing either of these.

Boat

I pull this around behind my '99 Lariat SC:

1976 Glastron V-195 that sat in dry storage for 18+ years. Also has a place on this board since it is powered by a slightly built 302 attached to a Mercruiser #1R. About 4000lbs trailer and all. I have more time restoring her than I have using her.... Also have a smaller 16' '76 Glastron I fish out of, but it usually stays behind my '92 Ranger. It is my resto project now. New transom, stringers, and floor on their way in as I type. Gotta love old Glastrons. Esp. one powered by Ford!

I tow a 251 Proline boat (27ft long) Fully loaded with fuel, it weighs about #7500. It sags the rear just a little but other than that, it tows just fine and the steering and handling are great. I tow it less than 10 miles each way per fishing trip but I have been doing it for almost two years without a problem.
Close......but nope.

Our Lightning loaded weighs about 5200lbs. Towing this combo., the total weight was 13,630lbs. I towed this 580 miles and averaged just under 10mpg. running 70+mph. from Goldfield Nevada, to Payson Arizona.

I almost forgot.........empty time to Nevada= 10.5hrs.
Loaded time back to Arizona= 10.5hrs.

Here's another one....... RockCrawler Explorer weighs 5500lbs. Car trailer is 2000lbs.

Weight distributing bars were already removed from the hitch.....hence the squat. My wife towed this through a terrible snow and ice storm. The time on the road was 20.5 hours. She averaged just under 12mpg.

I have a Glastron EXACTLY like that, except ours has the stock V6 volvo. How does that 302 push it around? However, it rarely sees itself behind my ford....except when going into storage for the winter.

I tow a Jeep Wrangler on a 18 ft car trailer. With the lift and tires on the Jeep and bed full of junk--still got 10 mpg!! I also found out yesterday that this truck has never had a tune-up--the plugs were at .073 it wouldn't start the other day. But I was getting 14mpg unloaded I can't wait to hook on to the trailer now!!!

I tow my 2002 S'crew w/my 1996 Monoco Windsor m/h. Tows like a dream. You have to monitor the rear camera to insure it is still there!!
