strut stud replacements

When i got my truck it had a 2" level on it which consisted of a polyuranethane spacer and longer replacement studs up top, i swapped out that level for a bigger HBS 2.5" and had to "ghetto" rig it up with lots of washers to space out the part of the stud that wasn't threaded if that makes any sense. Anyways i'll be ordering my lift in the next week or so and i'll need to get the factory 3 studs for the strut assembly, anyone have a part number? do they press in?

I believe you will have to get a new cap assembly: http://www.tascaparts.com/parts/2004...&component=Cap

as much as you hate them i'm going with a rough country lol, only because it can fit with 4.5" BS wheels which is what i have, other lifts require bigger backspacing. i'll be getting the bilstein 6" struts. You sure about the whole cap assembly? just doesn't make sense that the other level had just the longer studs and the spacer,

heres a pic, ended up putting washers on the non threaded part

most if not all lift kits allow 4.5" backspacing on the 04-08's

BDS
pro comp
fabtech
skyjacker
RCX

Call texas truck works on 1488/2978, IIRC they charge around $1750 or so OTD for a 6" RCX installed if you aren't going to install yourself.

Don't think you will find the studs..Is that a different cap in the picture?? Those studs are threaded all the way down on the cap of the OEM (I'm not looking at the spacer). To replace the cap the spring will have to be removed..take the nut off the middle and you will have a killer missile on your hands. You need a very rugged compressor !!

You should be ok then...don't know a whole lot about lifts, but if you are adding different struts your problem should be solved.
