Aloha all i have a 1997 f150 xcab lariat 4.6. my lower ball joints are squeeking and i plan to change them, i had a few questions on how to do it. how much control arm bushing are their (lower and upper). and how do i remove the lower control arm? do i have to compress the spring? i belive it is loaded under pressure and if i just take it off might broke my teeth. also i want to change the strut while im at it, what brand do u guys reccomend i want a smooth ride. thanks aloha!

2wd? you don't have to take the lower control arm off to change the balljoint, just get a press from autozone and compress them in. the uppers are one piece so you'll have to take them off. for the shock just take the two bottom bolts and the top bolt off and it'll slide out the bottom. shocks aren't under any tension so you'll be good as far as your teeth go

ohh alright well yeah, once you get the truck jacked off the ground the tension is gone for the most part, unhook the sway bar link and you should be able to pull the coil right out
