lift kit questions

Howdy y'all. I'm wanting to get a 6 inch lift kit soon and I'm having trouble finding one that will fit my rims. They are 20x9 with 4.5 inches of back space.. does anyone know a kit that will fit without changing rims? Sticking with my 35s also. And going to leave my 2.5 inch leveling kit on due to a 215 pound new bumper soon. Any help is a blessing.

Why won't the kits work with those wheels? Most require 4.5" of backspacing.

I was looking at the superlift kit and they say to use a 20x8.5. Would hate to buy, put on, and can't drive or turn correctly

Go with something other than the superlift then. I'm pretty sure Rancho, Rough Country, Zone, and BDS all call for 4.5" of backspacing. Not sure about Pro-Comp, Fabtech, and Skyjacker though.

It's the backspacing that makes the difference, they say an 8.5" wheel because it'll let you clear a little bigger tire than a 9" wheel because the tire won't be as wide on the narrower wheel. But if anything it'll rub on the frame at full lock, but you'll still be able to turn properly.

Thanks for all the help. Is there a lift that doesn't require any welding?

Damn, there are lifts that require welding??? I would steer clear of those. I know for a fact BDS doesnt require welding because I installed one on my truck myself. Neither does RCX, Zone, Skyjacker, Fabtech, Pro Comp from reading their instructions.

Also, pretty much every kit I mentioned above you can use your 4.5" BS wheels on. I am running 5.5" BS on my BDS lift and you could easily run your wheels on it. I am going to be running 4.5" BS when I get 37's.

4.5 BS will be fine on your rims. I am at 5.5 with a Rancho that requires 4.5 and i'm good... Even with 22X9.5 rims.... When I bump up to 37's and deep dish rims it will be 22X11 rims with 4.5bs....

Just get a narrow tire if you're concerned about a little rubbing...

What lift are you looking at that requires welding?? The only lifts like that I can think of are long travel or sas swaps.

um... rancho allows stock wheels which i think some are 6" backspacing so it does not require 4.5" bs....

Don't put the 2.5" leveling kit on top of a 6" lift without lifting the back more. 215 pounds isn't enough to need to compensate for. At the very most it will push the front end down 1/2" if you have worn out stock front coilovers. Stand on your front bumper and see how far it goes down. You'll really only be adding 175 pounds because you'll be taking off the 40-50 pound stock bumper

I covered myself. I said it's really only adding about 175 pounds because you have to take the stock bumper's weight off

Actual bumper weight is 215. It's huge. I weigh 190... I'll be nice and not talk about mamas
