suggestions on a small lift

Hi everyone I havent posted on here in a while but I have a 2001 4.6 supercrew 4x4. It has gotts intake mod 2.5" true duals with bullets and a edge cs programmer. I would like my next upgrade to be wheels and tires but I dont have enough funds to do a huge lift like I want. Right now Im thinking that i want the widest 33s that will fit. To get them to fit I was going to crank my torsion bars 2.5" but my friend did that on his silverado and it rides really rough. Ive heard that bilstien makes a shock that is 2" longer so its like a 2" lift. I would like to do something like that since I need new shocks anyway. I also heard that if you get those shocks then you cant crank your torsion bars, am I right on that? What do you guys think the biggest tires are that would fit with 2.5" torsion bars or with the 2" shocks all the way around? I would really like some 35s but I think they would have to be skinny to fit without rubbing a lot. Is there a way I could fit 35s with either of those options? How wide of tires do you guys think I could fit with either of these set ups and how much would they stick out past the flares? Any advice is greatly appreciated on other ideas. Also any pictures of set ups close to these would be great I would love to see some pictures of 33s and 35s on trucks with just torsion bars or leveling kits.

They don't make lift shocks for your truck, those are coil overs and for the 04+ trucks. You can crank the torsions and clear a 35x12.50. You would have to use blocks in the back if you wanna bring that up too.

If ya want a 35, try and run a narrower 35. But will have to max your keys, and add a leaf, or block in the rear. A 33x12.50 should clear with little to no trimming. Bilstein shocks are still a great option, the ride is amazing on them.

Man that sucks they don't make them for under 04. Thanks for the help could I do a aal in the back instead of a block or would that be a really rough ride with the torsion bars cranked. If I got the 35x12.50 would I have to regear or would my programmer make up for it? Thanks for the help im going to go look at some pictures with the 35s and torsion bars.

The ride would get a little rougher. The regear probably isnt needed since u have a programmer, but it wouldnt hurt.

If you are worried about ride quality, block in the rear.

what gears are in your truck now? like 97 said, it wouldn't be a bad idea. If you just use your truck as a toy and don't haul or tow anything i'd say don't worry about gears to much. If you do i'd highly recommend it.

when you buy tires, try and not get a load range E tire they will ride alot stiffer than a Load d tire.

Have you thought about a body lift? It's a cheap route if you install yourself.

Thanks for the help so far everyone and I'm pretty sure I have 3.55 gears. I don't really pull anything that weighs very much just some dirtbikes in my bed and mulch in the summer but that's not very much weight. What size block should I get in the back to clear 35s and also make the truck sit level if the torsion bars were cranked 2.5? If I got 35s what dimensions for the wheels and tires would they be and how far would they stick out past the stock flares. If I got 33s how far would those stick out past the flares and also what would the wheel and tire dimension be for those. I think I could instal a bodylift but I just don't know if I have the space needed for it.

if you don't run stock wheels or similar to stock you won't be able to fit 35's easily without cutting

What exactly would I be cutting because I really want some wide aftermarket wheels.

Depends on wheels and tires. If you want 35s and wide wheels at a minimum you need cranked and bl or a suspension lift

i have had 285 75 16s on a 10 inch wide rim on stock suspension, my opinion it looked kinda retarded. now i have a 3 inch body lift a 2 inch block in the rear and my t-bars cranked a little with 315 75 16 on the same rims and looks sweet i had 3.55 gears and not a programer and the only way i can put it is that it was gutless especially on the freeway
(always wanting to downshift) now whit 4.11 gears shes a whole different truck

Great looking truck I hope mine will look like yours soon. I would love to do a body lift but I dont want to pay somebody to do it. Are there any good guides on here how to do them. I looked and can't really find anything with pictures. If I think I can handle this I'll just do it myself.
