What to do?(lift?)

Im new to the lift world, looking for a 3" lift on an 01 supercrew(4wd)... Which would be the best way to go, a body lift and suspension lift?

Don't go cheap

I don't have any experience with body lifts, but don't do a spacer for the front. went that way and regret it. it tweaks the front suspension way too much. after three months i had to replace a hub assembly, and now a year later my tie rods are going bad. It also steers kinda of sloppy now. If I could do it again, I'd just wait until I could buy a real lift kit.

They don't make any 3" suspension lifts for our body style 4wd trucks. You could do a 3" body lift, but if you are going to be paying someone else to do it then it won't be worth it since time and labor for the install will run you about $900. I would look into the 5" rough country suspension lift. It's good quality and you can get it for under $1000. If money isn't a big concern then go with the 6" fabtech.

depends on the use of the truck. If ur just looking for some height and bigger tires and wont do much or any off roading then a body liff isnt all that bad as long as you arent using threaded rod and hocky pucks. If you plan on off roading alot i would go suspension.

no "spacer" for the 97-03's so that's probably why you didn't have a good experience with one...

you can crank your front torsion bars for a couple inches of lift to level it. then your next step for larger is a body lift or suspension. if you can afford it i'd go with a suspension lift.

If you can do install yourself body lift will be your cheapest route, if your gonna pay someone just go suspsension it'll be a little more but its better.
