does my axle look right?
i installed a 5.5 PC block last weekend and makes the axle look like its on an angle. im not sure but is it supposed to look like this? Is the block supposed to be straight up and down?

^^ extending a drive shaft won't change the angle any. the two mounting points (transfer case output and diff) are at fixed points so angle is standard. what will change it is fixing the rear pinion angle and pointing it towards the TC output.
The pie piece is for your bump stop. However you can get tapered and non tapered lift blocks, any clue which ones you got - guessing tapered?

looks fine to me, the larger procomp blocks are tapered...Should angle the axle slightly....
No it doesn't matter which way the shocks are mounted. Some people make a big deal of things like this, however if it really mattered, the manufacturer would label them and probably include warnings in the packaging. I have never seen either of these things. BTW if you have tapered blocks, it does matter which side you mount them on, because it matters which way the taper is facing. Yours have the tongue on them which is to contact the bump stop, therefore since they must face inward it probably forces you to orient the blocks properly.

Hero...I may be wrong, been a while since I looked but I'm pretty sure you stock shocks had the body up/rod down. The stock shocks just have that big plastic boot on them that make it look that way.
I also respectfully completely disagree with HYPO. The shock instructions should have told you which way they mount. But if you look at your Bilstein label on the shock, yours is upside down. That's not a coincidence. And yes, it does matter. The valving, fluid flow, and internal design is most definately designed to work a certain way. The shock is also safer the other way...that hardened steel rod will take A LOT more of a beating than the body will. Thus, tucking the body up unde the truck is better and more protected.
