OEM 4x4 shocks are longer than the 2wd version. That's why the 4x4's sit up about an inch higher in the front.

I too have a 2wd with a 6" fabtech lift. I am debating if I should put my 2" spacer back onto my strut or replace with a 5100. I found a site that asked what my lift was and then suggested a 5100 that would fit it. Im not sure if that site was right though.

You are saying a longer than stock 5100 will allow me to crank 2" more out of my setup then and not use a spacer. Is that a better option that the spacer?
