6'' Height

I keep looking and i swear different kits have different height. I found this thread and it shows a comparison of a skyjacker 3 inch lift and a fabtech 6 inch

https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...inch-lift.html

What i dont get is the rear is about the same in the 3 and 6 inch lift but the 6 inch lift in fabtech is 4 inches higher then the skyjacker 3 inch lift. does that mean the skyjacker puts up less height then the fabtech ????? this is the only problem i have , i want the most height possible from the lift

That thread is old, and I think that particular member had a rear block added for rear lift. The Fabtech 6" lift adds 3" of lift in the rear from a larger replacement block and about 5.5" in the front from a proper differential drop lift system. The Skyjacker 3" lift is just an aftermarket coil that pushed the front up, much like a leveling kit. CV angles are extreme, I would stay far away from that lift system.

With that said, different lift systems are definitely different sizes. My 6" Fabtech truck sits about an inch lower in the front than a Procomp 6" truck, and also sits about an inch taller than a 4" Rancho truck. Keep in mind that the size of your tires, as well as spacers/aftermarket shocks or coils also play a role in determining the overall height.

If you want as much lift as possible, why not go for an 8" lift? (even though thats really pushing it for practicality on a half ton).

On performancelifts.com they sale a Fabetch complete kit for 1669, a skyjacker for about 1670, and a nice pro comp for around 2500 bucks. I know the procomp is probably better but why does the fabtech look like it has least height out of the 2 lift. All 3 claim 6 inches but skyjacker and procomp look like they give a little more dont ya think ??

Fabtech 6 inch lift

Skyjacker 6 inch lift

Pro Comp 6 inch lift

Does the fabtech not look a little small compared to the others ? why is that

I am sorry i ask all these question im just learning about all this and 1600 bucks is alot to spend on something and i want to get what i want .

the skyjacker truck has aftermarket fenders that balloon out to make it look higher and it looks like the procomp has its coilovers turned up a little.

if they're adjustable like in the stage II kits then you can turn them up a few inches. they will add around 2in.s to the lift.

you can crank the front up 2 more inches with coilovers but to do so you will be compressing the springs of the coil overs which will affect ride quality a little bit. The other option is a stage 2 or even a stage 1 which is cheaper and putting a leveling kit on top (which some people don't recommend stacking) either way it's not hard to get another 2 inches up front, but with either options your CV joints will be a little more extreme which can lead to premature wearing of your ball joints. For the rear, most people get an add a leaf to get the back up another 2 inches because the kits come with blocks for the rear. The problem with an add a leaf is the truck rides a bit rougher. Another option is stacking blocks which is again usually not recommend, I'm not sure what options are out there with changing the shackles. The last thing you could do is a 6" lift and add a 3" body lift which won't cause your truck to ride any rougher and you'll have 9" of overall lift since it seems your concern it getting your truck high.
