New shocks!!-Been searching the forum forever

I have the 5100s on order form shockwarehouse but am getting tired of waiting. I need shocks pretty bad. Any suggestions on other shocks comparable to the 5100 series? Whats the deal with these shocks on backorder anyway? Ive had ranchos before and liked them but dont really want the adjustable 9000s. I'm calling topgunzcustoms monday to see if they have the bilsteins....

I thought about going with the bilstein HDs also.

Any ideas?

Just for FYI (because quite a bit don't know) there is zero difference between the HD's and the 5100's except for the color and the lift capability. Internally, they are identical...same valving and everything. Driving wise, you'd literally never know the difference.

Why don't you want the 9000's? That's a friggin awesome shock. It's pretty much like buying 9 different shocks and getting to pick the one you want at no additional cost after you road test them all!!

Galaxy, thanks I did not know that. I may get the HD's and the daystar 1" level kit.

Dune, Did yours have 3 spring seats allowing for 1" lift? What did you pay?

The travel on the 5100's is longer then on the HD's. Check the Bilstein website.

Jughed,

Do you have your shocks on the 1 or 2 inch setting? Does yours have the 1" setting?

They aren't adjustable for 97 - 03

edit: thanks for the heads up on topguncustomz, should be picking up a set in the next week or two and they're the cheapest by far.
