Rize 2.5 leveling kit - need to modify control arm mounts?

I have a 2004 F150 2wd that I installed a Rize 2.5" leveling kit on, once installed it actually sits 4 inches higher. They are unable to align it because the upper control arm is in too much of an angle. I contacted Rize and they stated this kit does not work on my F150 because it was manufactured between the months of Sep 03 and Jun 04 (I researched the application info before I purchased and this was not stated anywhere I could find). It is not as simple as removing this kit now because I installed 20x10 -25 offset wheels to fit this truck height.

I am trying to find any ideas of what I can do to modify control arm mounts by drilling holes lower to move control arm down? Has anyone had any experience doing this?

Were the actual measurements of the spacer 2.5 in. I put on a 2.5 hell bent steel kit. The measurement was about 1 9/16 or something close to that. I would guess that you would need to remove the kit and get something smaller. Good luck.

Take the Rize kit off and replace it with an Autospring or Daystar 2.5" kit. What reason did Rize give for it not working trucks built during that time period?

it looks to me that its not the control arm or the lift it self but the knuckle is to short. i would see if u can buy a replacement or have one made at a shop.

I can't believe someone payed that much for a leveling kit, and its causing problems.... I love Rize, but not that much just to level a truck. I agree with a TLT, order an AutoSpring kit, and then swap them out and send the overpriced one back.

4x4 spindle is the only thing I know of available.

pbkfx4 is right.....I've always heard that 2wd's have 2" shorter knuckles and this may be the proof.

You're gonna want to take those wheels and tires off until you can get an alignment anyways unless you're not driving it because all your doing is ruining your tires

thanks for info on auto spring but that will not put truck at right heigth to clear tires. do you think holes can be drilled lower to mount control arms. there is plenty of room to move them down. this will push top of spindle over to straighten tire up and relieve pressure on ball joint. right????
