6" suspension & leveling kit?

Hello guys!

Sorry for bringing up old topics, that I am sure have been beaten to death!

But I do have some questions for some of you members that are currently running a 6" lift and have adding a leveling kit on top of the 6" spacer.

I have a 2008 F150 FX4 plus super crew short box, with a 6" Pro Comp stage 1 lift kit on it. It has a 6" spacer up front and a 4" block in the rear. I am also running some 35x12.5x18 Mickey thompson tires.

I love the look of some F150's running around town with the 8" Rize lift and some 37x13.5x22

I was thinking of achieving the same height and look by adding a leveling kit and add a leafs in the rear. Also buying some 37" Toyo Mud terrains and some 22" KMC XD diesel wheels. (love those wheels) I dont really want to go with a body lift I would rather spend $200 than $1200 and I dont like the idea of the body off the frame, squeaks and rattles in the future.

If anyone can help me out that have done this kind of setup and give me some feedback weather positive of negative that would be much appreciated. I have talked to my dealership and they said they would not void my warranty by doing this setup. They had aslo told me that if i was to go with the Auto Spring 1.5" or 2" spacer that my CV's should be on ok of an angle, but told me to stay away from the 2.5" and deffenatly stay away from the 3". They were only mainly concerned about the front and rear driveshafts (angle, length?)

Thank you for your time guys! Derek

i wouldnt add a spacer on top of a spacer, id either grab some bilstein shocks like i did or get some coil overs to get the extra lift, thats just my advice

probably shouldnt stack spacers for safety reason. you could install a set of bilstein 5100series shocks up front. they are adjustable from stock higth to 1'' or 2''. makes your ride alittle stiff but much safer than stacking spacers. i have this same setup on mine. 6'' pro comp and 5100s plus add a leaf in the rear

The Bilstein shocks put the CV's on the same angle a spacer would correct? Just out of curiosity why wouldn't you put a spacer on top? Is it not safe of something? What did you do for the rear of your truck? Are your drive shafts and CV angles ok? thank you for your advice fx4life79

I have seen those 5100 shocks seclineman but I thought they were for stock height trucks that you could make your truck level with them? Can you get them in a 6" above stock height shock and then add 2" on top of that?

i think they make a 4"-6" bilstein shock then you could stack a leveling kit on top of that, they are mainly for stock height trucks but you can use the spacer you have on top of it if you wanted, for the rear i would get a bigger block and add a leaf

fx4life79 when you say they make a 4" and a 6" is the Bilstien shock for a 4" lift, and than cranked all the way up makes it 6" total or is it a 6" shock cranked up to 8"? I thought you said not to use a leveling kit? Just to go with the Bilstein shock instead of the leveling kit? to achieve an extra 2" of lift for 8" total. Bigger block than 4"? How are you set up? Do you have 8" up front and 8" in rear? From what I understand most Rize lift kits are 8" up front and 6" in rear, or am I wrong? I have read your post 305f150 but there are so many people that are having awesome luck and others that hate it. I just wanted to talk to some people that have stacked the leveling kit on with there 6" suspension lifts. Reading your sig it looks as thought thats what you have done!

um about 6 months now. I think I need a longer drive shaft because for the 2 extra inches all the way around (custom made one will be 350 Canadian). I am running 3.73 LS for now but it does the job. Other than that its pretty good. Gas mileage isn't great but if I wanted good gas mileage i'd be in a 2 door kia....no thanks

rear is just bigger block like in the 8 inch rize setup. People say stay away from them but so far so good. I can do 140 kmsph down the highway no vibrations or anything.

IH8ATTN could you do me a big favor and measure your rear block? Also if you could send me a pic of your front drive shaft angles that would be just awesome! I love the look of your truck! It looks a lot like the size and style I am going for. When you say you need a new drive shaft, is that the front or rear drive shaft? Also why would you need a new drive shaft? When people buy Rize 8" kits do they need new drive shafts? Thank you, Derek
