Ok but if hes thinking about going 8inches of lift anyways then hes prob gonna have to regear unless hes gonna run 35s.. This is my opinion and i saw save up for the Rize 8inch lift. Drive shaft you can have lenghtened. Brake lines $120 for the rear. But then again OP its your choice not mine just thought id throw my .02 in there

Def go with the new struts. its not that much more expensive.
i got quoted $1,650 for the basic 6" Lift , strut spacers , block+AAL
For $1,850 i went with the 6" kit with new struts , Block+AAL and i also got them to throw in Dual steering stabilizers.
I didnt get a price on the 6" kit w/struts and new leaf springs but i bet it would be around $2,000
All the kits come with new front brake lines aswell, which is a plus and as Wandell mentioned they have their "no fine print" warranty, meaning if you break it they replace the part for free as long as you own the vehicle/lift.
