Front end noise while off road

This last weekend I took the family out on a camping trip into the mountains. The road I was on was in very bad shape with lots of ruts, steep inclines, potholes, water crossings, dips, etc. At one very severe wash at the bottom of a steep incline I noticed a loud Clunk/Bang from the frond driver's side of my truck. It only happened at one spot a few times through. When I got home I was driving in a parking lot and i could hear a very light clunking noise while turning. I drive on trails alot so I need to get the problem fixed.

My truck is an 07 f-150 with a 2.5" lift, 33"x10.5" Firestone M/T's on stock rims, and 22000 miles on the odometer.

I think that its the ball joints but any ideas would help

Thanks

Brandon

Make sure you have not lost 1 of the four large bolts that hold your hub on/in place.

...or any other bolts for that reason. Losing or shearing 1 off could cause that noise.

I did a lift check on the ball joints and they seem fine. I'll check the bolts today ans see what comes of it.

I have gone through the whole underside of the truck making sure everything is tight and intact. It has to be the CV joints or the upper ball joints, beyond that I have no idea. I just turned my radio up louder and realized that my speakers suck.

Did you inspect the front stabilizer links. They can look ok but the bolt (link) head can break off and give you a intermitten loud clunk. My 97 drove me nuts until I actually reached up on top and felt for the broken link. Good luck.

That was my only lead, I parked the truck on an odd angle and i could see a gap between the rubber stopper and the stabilizer. I'll replace the links and see what happens
