I used a wonder bar (small pry bar) to spread them apart. Its a pain to do.

Bending them back is even harder. Mine are still not fully closed.

Edit: Also, your comment about no one wanting to help is a little uncalled for. When I had your issue a few months ago I used the search function and had my answer in about 30 seconds. People are generally not very quick to reply to a question that has been asked several times already in the forum.

Here is a link covering the same thing:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...-add-leaf.html

x2 on the comment, I am not one to complain but for your own good, learn to use the search feature as people often avoid replying to messages that already have answers out there. If search does not provide you with what you are looking for then post away.

Looks like brute force is the way to go, do you have replacement clips or do you need to reuse the ones you have?

Yea, sounds like it, I am not a fan of bending and rebinding metal that your going to use later, but being that you will be bending the clip in a new location after the leaf is added that will not be too bad.

My advice, use brute force but take your time while you do so (I know that sounds dumb). When you go to bend them back, I would use a c-clamp to hold the clips in place while you bend the corners back over the leaf pack. If the c-clamp is placed in the center of the leaf you should have room for your edges to fold over without hitting the clamp. Good luck!

I use a pipe wrench but channel locks will work as well you just have to muscle up a bit more.
