Correct. Coil-overs are only '04 and up. '97-'03 trucks are either conventional coil spring (2WD) or torsion bar (4WD). Either way, a shock is just a shock on those.

so whats a good shock # for a good shock brand? just to replace the stock ones. thinking about Bilestin....

My truck actually has air helpers on it. They just don't work. They leak.
