Hey guys,

I'm looking to install a 3" BL on my '03 F150 4x4 and just measeured the rear. The driver side rear is 1.5" lower then the passenger side rear. Anybody have this problem and if so can it be corrected once the BL is installed?

I've seen this before, but I've never been able to put a reason to it. My friend's truck was the same exact way before and after his suspension lift, so we just threw a taller block on the driver's side.

 

I have this problem too, its just from the natural wear on the left side leaf spring, the drivers weight and the weight of the fuel tank wears the drivers side leaf spring out faster. Im gonna try to solve the problem with AALs

 

I was thinking the same thing having that 25 gallon pig on the driver side. Well we'll see what happens when I lift it. Not sure if I going to just try and level it t out w/2" blocks in the rear and torsion keys up front or go w/a 3" BL...

 

invest in a good kit and shim the lows
be sure to be ready for bruised knuckles
makes cleaning and maintince way easier

 

Body lift wont correct the problem, you can hide the problem by making some shims to go under the blocks but the suspension is still gonna be 1.5" lower on the d-side.

New leaf springs will cure the problem and you probably wont notice it again for another 60-100k miles.

Id definitely go ahead with the body lift, i love mine makes workin on the motor much easier, plus it give me more room for my motor swap.

and yes to correct it properly measure your ride height at static and go from there new leafs or what ever u need to do.

after my body lift my truck still leaned about 1" to the d-side.

now after the SAS and stiff leaf springs its level now.

 

I appreciate all the replys. Sounds like new leaf springs are in my future. Might as well do the BL at the same time.

 

Go for it man! Definitely love the BL on f150s. These trucks hide them very well... Hopefully those leaf springs will help level out the back

I don't know if it would be the leaf springs. On my friend's truck that I mentioned in my above post, the driver's side sat an inch lower before AND after the lift, which included a brand new leaf spring. It wasn't an AAL either, it was a full replacement leaf spring. Just throwing that out there

 

I would like to also report that my drivers side rear is a tad over 0.5" low. Thats very odd that it was sitting low with new leafs... I would have put my money on that being the source of the problem... hmmmm

 

hmm. New springs and it was still lower. That's odd, but not to bad at only .5". I just verified tire pressure and measured again and I'm sitting just over an 1" lower. I'm going to give the leafs a try and see what happens.

 

Check your fuel gauge if your full tank you still will have some lean due to weight.
