get rid of the rake

got an 06 super cab 4x4. cant stand the rake plus i want the truck to look alittle more aggresive. i know torsion keys are out the question so im looking at spacers. i also tow so i need the same towing capacity as stock and i have heard that a leveling kit increases the wear on the ball joints. so any suggestions????

I'd suggest a 2 or 2.5 inch Autospring leveling kit. Yes, anytime you increase the angle of your ball joints, you increase wear. How much? Who knows. These are a high wear item on the 97-08 trucks so they are probably gonna be shot at around 60,000 miles anyway.

The only other option I know of would be to replace your rear 2" block with a 1". Obviously you would be lowering your truck, but it would get rid of the rake and keep the angles off your ball joints.
However I have the 2.5 AutoSpring and love it, no way I am going lower on a 4x4. I say go with the 2" or 2.5" AS!

I also am considering leveling my 06 supercab with 6-1/2' bed. I stopped at a shop to talk to them about my options. They recommended using one of the spacer kits that sit on top of the struts. They insisted that they do not create any additional wear on ball joints in the ford. My only question is does anyone know of a 2" kit like this or just 2-1/2". because there is almost exactly a 2-1/2" difference between the front and back now. I don't want to have the back end appear to be sagging. I would appreciate any help on this issue.

as said before autospring makes a good kit as do several other companies, do a search. if any shop told you that they do not create any additional wear on the front end go somewhere else because they either have no clue what they are talking about or they are just lying.

I agree. The Autospring kit fits on top of the coilover shock. And yes, it creates a more extreme ball joint angle just like any leveling kit. The more severe the angle, the more the wear and tear. That is why most everyone agrees that 2.5 is the max on the 04-08's. Also, AS makes 2 and 2.5 inch kits.
