With that front upper plate and those small "gussets" your going to run into the risk of that upper plate bending upward. Since its just welded to the top of the frame and those "gussets" are just too small. If you wanted to go with that look you should used some small quarter inch tubing to use on both sides for strength. Or something like how I did on my F150....

Well since the frame and parts are gone, ive been cranking on the bed and cab. Had to weld up some holes in the firewall. Very slowly i might add so i dont ignite the insulation inside the cab!
Since im not a master metal fabricator.... i think im gonna have to whip out some bondo to make it look presentable. Also welded in a plate where i cut the botom of the cab to fit over my driveshaft tunnel. Now all that is left to do on the cab is scuff prep and paint.
The bed is basically ready for paint aswell. Yesterday i welded some hinges on the middle section between the tubs and rattlecaned it all semi-gloss black. Cut a hole in the bed so I can access the fuel tank. (almost forgot that!) Now its ready for scuff, prep and paint aswell.
Then i have to do the worst thing ive been dreading before the frame shows up....
Cleaning up! Ahhhhhhh!

Well ive got the truck taped up and ready to wipe down and paint! Just called the powder coating guy and he said everything i want black is done. Now he is getting started on the frame. Ill go get it monday!
