i'll look at the torsion bar and rear block scenario with the step bar, thanks for the suggestions.
if that does not work out i'll consider removing it completely
reference to the wheels, i have 5 hole, so the 6 wont work for me.

forgot to mention, you can swap in a set of chevy torsion keys to drop the front end a little more. The are indexed differently, and thus allow you to lower the front end down some more, before the bolt is completely backed out of the torsion key.
if you choose to lower the suspension on your truck back to stock, you'll need a set of stock steering knuckles, the stock frame crossmember that also has a differential mount point welded to it, as well as oem length shocks.

ok, here's the deal,
rear presently has 6" lift, 4" block + 2" bump stop
i want to lower the torsion bar to minimum (1 to 2" drop), and replace the rear 4" block with a 2" block + 2" bumpstop (total 4" in the rear). Hopefully to maintain level. I am looking at running a set of Nitto terra grappler (325 65 17's) on my stock wheels.
also looking to add step bar.
does this make sense in terms of what i am trying to achieve. trying to post up some pics, so bare with me.
what are your recommendations on tire size on the stock wheels? i'm looking for that right fit; width, height of tire to complement lift on truck.
all suggestions accepted, considered. thanks

A 325/65r17 might be a little wide for a stock rim, depending on the true width of the tire. I would look at a 305/70r17 or a 315/70r17, the first is about 33" tire maybe a little bigger and the second is about a 35" tire, both around 12-12.5" wide.
