not a fan of the u-bolt spacers, what did you run out of threads? get smaller u-bolts from a spring shop.

No need to that heavy of a weld on the bracket for the front crossmember, doesnt look that clean either. Im not to sure on that rear shackle mount, it seems pretty sketchy. but take care of the little problems on there and it should be fine.

what are you doing about steering?

im pretty sure that they arre there for mock up reasons so they dont have to tighten them all the way down so if they have to change anything it takes less time then having to un bolt everything all the way.....and remember he said its in the mock up stage its not in the finishing stage

not so much the u-bolts but the rear shackle mounts are more of a worry.

And again, trimble said everything is in mock-up stage. Final product is going to be different from what you see here folks...

If you're actually following the thread you'll notice that he hasn't yet accumulated all of the parts...

Sheesh. Sorry to butt in for you trimble.

ok guys, too many people to quote so im just gonna go without quotes...

The worry of the moment seems to be the shackles for mounting the rear of the front leaf springs. Yes they do look terrifying right now but remeber this is only mocked. those will be boxed in and gusseted to the frame. The problems we are having is that the frame bends ALOT it goes in, up, down, and back out. The shackles wil be pretty much totally different then what you see there. The reason we went with shackles is better articulation, sometimes sacrafices ride on the street but it should be ok.

None of the work shown here is final i assure you NONE of these welds would hold up to what i do to the truck these are just tacs. Everything will be cleaned up and painted. Anything that i deem weak will be reinforced by gussets.

Now onto the u-bolts. We arent putting on the new ubolts till its done. this keeps them from getting thread damage by constantly takin them off. So we are just using some we had at the shop. The u-bolts were too long so the spacer was put on there, i would take 5 minutes to thread those things all the way down.

Now for the steering, Its gonna be crossover this is NOT pictured and will be done monday or tuesday. Then ill add hydro assit when the kit comes in. probably a few months but ill be ok for the time being.

Thanks for the concern about the saftey of the shackles, they werent my first or favorite design but they work darn good. and when finished will be almost as strong as a hanger would be. If for some reason they arent then a custom hanger will be made.

Sorry for the long silence after posting pictures, but i was in Georgia doing alittle turkey hunting... Just so yall know i did indeed kill a 30-40 pound Gobbler. Which is fairly big for our area.

yeah it was pretty big, what was weird though was that the things feet were SMALL. they made some of the prints there look HUGE.

I also did alittle coyote hunting, shot one 85 yards out with the SAVAGE 270 deffinitely wanted the pelt but only half was good so oh well. My grandpa got a pretty cool skull in the deal.

i would post pictures of the turkey but i took the pictures with the 270 holding it up and i know ill get introuble for that... i shot it with 12 GA 3.5" Turkey load from about 45 yards.
