Need New Coilovers

I've put 50k miles on my truck 40k with the lift, Its about time for me to replace my front shocks, but ever time I search for them the only ones i can find are Kings for 1500. thats a little pricey, I wouldn't mind Fox shock like the ones that bullet proof offers or even sway away. by the way i have a 8in. rize with a 3in leveling kit, i want to replace the hole thing and also go 40s.. tell me what yall think i should do.

you can buy fabtech blems for $560 and thats for both directly from them. im not sure how much they can be cranked, but atleast 2 inches to get your 8" of lift you need and you can keep your spacer

I may be wrong about this, but i would think if u cranked the coilovers up 2" with a 3" leveling kit, that would put your angles looking pretty rough, cause i got my coilovers cranked 2" and my angles are not exactly the best

well he has an i 8" Rize so if he bought fabtech DL's and bolted them in, they are ment for a 6" lift, his suspension will be 2" lower than what he had the the rize spacer and stock coilover, so by cranked the 6" coilover to 8" then he is back at the same hieght as the 8" spacer and stock coilover assembly, and THEN he is putting the 3" spacer on top of the coilover making it an 11" lift set up, basically maxing out his 8" lift.

Oh Ok i see, sounds like to me that set up would not be the best option to go with

I agree with what atom sayed, kings are gonna be a little more, but u woud have one whole set up instead of cranking the coilovers then putting a spacer on top, but u would lose 1" inch of lift, with having the 8" king with coils cranked 2"

it's gonna be hard to find shocks for 11 inches of lift. the kings would be the best way, not the cheapest but they can be dialed in perfect.

yeah king will make any sized coilover you want, they made FX4life his for an 8" lift and he can crank them for 10" which is what he did. it takes them a little while to make them and its about $1500 but they will make anything for you. if matt posts in this thread he will tell you more about them. i know he got them from sonny at down south motorsports.

you make adjust them using spring rates and so forth. they are awesome shocks, maybe someday i'll have me a set, but with harsh winters, it would be a shame to ruin them.

Your going to be looking custom to replace all that...Any of those guys will custom build you shocks/coilovers, but if 1500 is too much then you might as well count custom stuff out. Get the kings, crank um 2" and call it a day. You might also check every part of the front end since your going to be in there (balljoints, tie rods, tie rod ends, control arms, bushings, bearings, etc...) If the coilovers are worn out, there is bound to be more..

The kings are just the factory replacements that king makes for the 4x4 f150 with a longer machined end on them to compensate for the lift, King's custom built might be your cheaper option if there was such a thing. Id almost guarantee it would run more than 1500, possibly a non-resevior coilover could save you some dough?
