napa had them in stock, but they wanted 179 bucks for one. so i called both ford shops around me. one for 159 and the other wanted 139. so then i called advanced auto parts. they only wanted 115 for one with lifetime warrenty. so i went to the ford shop that wanted 159 and told them that advanced wanted 115 so he came back and said order with me and i'll get if for 112. so i said get it to me tomorrow. so i ended up talkin the dealership down 50 bucks for the cheapest out of all

Try Orielly's or Autozone they had Moog at reasonable prices. I just did my lowers. If you go with Moog, the balljoints are replaced next time around.

If I wer you, I would spend the extra jack and replace all the ball joints. If you piece meal it, you'll have to get an alignment every time you do work. Along with the new uppers, you should also get the camber/caster kits for each side and install them yourself. This will also help save money during alignment time.

Just did that today!

I found step by step instructions on here from a member named racerguy and it was a huge help. If you can't find it let me know. I went from oil changes and tire rotations to doing my upper/lower ball joints and tie rods, it wasn't hard i loaned the press from canadian tire and it was actually fun I learned alot while doing it. also there is helpful videos at a website called expert village.

I agree. If one is worn out, the other three are not far behind. I'd go ahead and do all four.

I replaced all four (uppers and lowers both sides) on mine for just under $350.00 total in parts. It took me around 5 hours to complete the job on my 1997 F150 4x4. I also used racerguy's instructions and used the tools loaned from Murrays Auto Parts where I bought the parts. The job is not bad if you have a Saturday with nothing else to do. Good luck.
