BTW, thank you for being supportive, and polite.
What does it cost (round figures) to have what you did done and does it impact the ride in any way. I have my 4x4 for winter as well as for pulling my boat up steep and muddy ramps (and a few odd turns on other muddy and somewhat rutted back roads) never any rock climbing or anything else that needs a lot of clearance. I would like to get it closer to the height of a 2x4 for looks as well as getting in and out of the bed. I admit I am not one for doing mechanical modifications to my truck, but I might consider this one. Your truck looks good.

Thanks.

About 3 bills for what I did. The front shocks were a bill each, 60 for the shackles and 40 for the 2wd u-bolts.

I don't mind if someone lifts a 2wd, drops a 4x4, or vice versa.
BUT! ford got the stance just perfect on the fx4. A little taller in the rear is the way it's suppose to be. On any vehicle, but most importantly on a truck. How could anyone mess with perfection???
I actually hate "leveled" trucks. they don't look level. The front always looks higher. :P A powerful vehicle should lean forward like a dog about to attack. Laid back is for a low-rider.

Yes the Drop Shackles would work depending on the drop height ( try to get the multi level ones from DJM Products, But you can just use the 2wd drive 1 inch block and U bolts for the 2wd axle. You can buy them online or at local dealer.
My 06 Roush Stage One is a 4wd drive and I leveled the rear end rake with 2wd drive Blocks. Cost me around $60.00 in part and my own labor in the garage.

Here is my 06 Roush Stage One 4x4 with Roush Suspension. I left the 4x4 truck air dam for Clearance if I ride in snow or run on a high spot on driveway or road junction. My Camaro kept bottoming out on the curbs so no need to pay extra for a airdam.

This is the Roush Suspension brand new, It has settled after two years, but I can't get the photo to post of the current stance!

If I remove the axle blocks from the rear of my 4x4, should I install shims to change the angle of the differential to keep everything lined up with the driveshaft properly, like they do with the lowering shackles?

I wouldn't worry about that unless you get some sort of vibration.

Thanks for the info on removing the axle blocks....My 07 King Ranch sits high in the rear...It makes the 20" rims and perelli's look small. I think it will look good leveled.....I should get some pics of it to post.....now down to the dealer for some u-bolts.....and an afternoon in the garage...

I own a 06 FX4 Supercab too, and i say go for it man. I too said the same thing, i need traction and looks for hiway driving. I can't afford a all-wheel drive Harley so i thought i'd make a poor mans version knock-off i guess. I'm not knocking anybody's truck on here for what they have done to it. Imagine if we all did the same things and they all looked the same? It would be pretty friggin' boring on here! I liked 05RedFX4's truck the minute i scene a photo of it. I did pretty much the same thing as he did, i just went a little lower in the front to give it a bit of a rake look. Here is my photos. Good Luck and enjoy what ever you do to it, pride of ownership. Cheers

Sorry to hijack, but my buddy has an '06 screw and he's buying new wheels and tires. He wants to lower the back end to level it out and make the wheels look bigger. Will removing the rear block make it level? And from what another guy said, do you need new u-bolts or can you reuse the factory ones? Any other tips or advice would be appreciated, thanks.
