There are many different brands out there but the concensus that I have seen here is the AS 2" if you have a 2WD and the AS 2.5" if you have 4x4. I myself will be ordering the AS 2" on Tuesday. If you get the 2.5" on a 2WD I heard that the front will be slightly higher in the front then you will need an AAL.

i see a lot of the newer kits use bolt on spacers i was looking at rough countrys 2.5 also summit offered one made by readylift tha was 3" bolt on another site called truxxx offered one but didnt say the amount of lift and had a really high price

i think the one my brother had was an actual spacer that sat on the spring and was made of hard polyurathane maybe it was a skyjacker i dunno

I had a 2 piece polyurethane. Both Explorer Pro Comp & Daystar sell them.

There is a lot of controversy. A lot of forum members were parroting "Auto Spring". Why? I don't know. When I was in the market for a leveling kit, I couldn't get a straight answer out of any of them. When I tried asking, the only answer that I got was that it worked & that it was cheap. That being the case, every leveling kit will "work" in the sense that there is not one kit on the market that actually lowers your truck once installed. For me, "cheap" was just not a good enough piece of evidence to indicate that Auto Spring's design, manufacturing, or finished product in any way offered an advantage over other kits in the market.

Pay attention as you shop around. The kits are offered in different metals & finishes. Some say that they are laser cut. They also advertise different hardware. Some products are only available through the internet, or are only sold on eBay. Question why they aren't offered for sale in conventional brick & mortar stores, or aren't even available to your local mechanic or off-road shop through a wholesale distributor. Is there a warranty on the part? Will your local mechanic or installer charge you a fortune for installing a part only sold on eBay?

If you all get Four by Four magazine, they just did a tech spec article on the daystar leveling kit for an 07 fx4. They claim Daystar to be the first on the market and the best to their knowledge.

AS FTW!

2 1/5" on a 04-06 2" on a 06-08, Looks the most level IMO.

i talked to the guys from AS today and they said 07-08 came from the factory a little higher then the 04-06 so if you are going to use one of their kits use a 2.5 for the 04-06 and the 2 for the 07-08 unless you are going with bigger then recommended tires. they seem to offer a good deal compared to other companies out there and their customer service was really fast and knowledgable

Interesting that local truck shops don't, or won't, use their product, and they are only sold on eBay.

That starts to get into some serious money....If they want to be on the shelves they will pay big to get there. I have no problem buying from an online company

the main issue i've found between daystar and AS is (at least on my '98 2wd) that daystar's spacers sit directly on top of the spring. you dont bolt it on or anything. you just take out the factory piece of rubber and put the spacer on. this means that the spacer actually compresses the spring more, causing stiffer suspension and the suspension is closer to being "topped out" meaning that it is closer to being all the way unsprung. but after doing the install, i dont see how you could do a bolt on on my truck. maybe the bolt ons are only for the 4x4's? at any rate, im plenty happy with my daystar spacers. now i just gotta wait for the rain to lift so i can take a new sig pic.

p.s.- when you do get your leveling kit, i would recommend installing them yourself. one shop wanted to charge me $300 and another wanted $200. i told them i would keep my money and did the install myself. the first one took like 2-3 hours cause i didnt know what i was doing. the second took 1 hour or less.

I have the AS 2.5" kit and it was level for a while, but the back is beginning to sag a bit. I tow quite a bit, so my I'm going to AAL to bring the rear up.
