so i have a 2008 STX 4x4 and my buddy who has a fx4 just put his lift kit on so he has the struts in his garage. will they fit on my stx and possibly give it a little lift?

they will fit, they may give you some lift, less than an inch probably. i wouldn't go through that much trouble for almost no lift, maybe if you swapped the struts and threw in a leveling kit at the same time, but that's up to you.

I don't believe there is any difference between any of the 04-08 4x4 coilovers.

i may be wrong but i am under the impression that the fx4's have more damping built in and slightly stiffer spring rate. correct me if i am wrong tho

FX4 and all the other F150's, 04-08 have a 32MM front valve, andf a rear 35MM valve. Valving is the same across the board. there is NO difference. You'd be swapping out 6 for half a dozen.

yes, your not going to gain any lift, except from the leveling kit. The leveling kit will also make it feel like it stiffened up a bit for you, but no, the springs are all the same. There is no way you can feel any difference. If its free, and less miles on the fx4, then why not ? wont hurt anything and you get a "newer" coilover, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
