Talking 4x4 FX4 Coilovers installed on 2wd

I picked up some '07 4x4 FX4 coilovers for $50 with only about 20 miles on them. Guy bought the truck then went straight to 4WP.

So I put them on my 2wd instead of lift spacers

What parts exactly did you swap from the FX4? I want to do the same thing.

are you 2wd?
if so you can't put 4x4 coilovers, a 2 1/2" spacer. there is no possible way. you can either do a 2 1/2" spacer or 4x4 coil overs

How much lift does that get ya by going with the 4x4 Coilovers? Looks like only 1" or so!

You can install the 4x4 struts and the level kit. No problem at all. There are a bunch of Fx4 guys on here that run a level kit. He is replacing his 2x4 struts with the 4x4 stuts. The coil is the exact same.

i would think that would put the balljoints at a pretty bad angle. all and all your looking at like 4"-5" of lift with the combo..... i believe thetallets leveling kit you can find is a 3", and even that puts the angles questionable.

ok but there is a difference between a 2x4 and an fx4. about 2" . so i will pay to see you get a 4x4 coilover and a 2 1/2" leveling kit to fit, work, and not destroy all the front end suspension parts. if that was even possible wouldn't you think people would do it to get 4 1/2" of lift?

exactly....a leveling kit on a 4x4 adds about 2 or 2.5 inches of lift. adding 4x4 struts plus a leveling kit on a 2wd is like 4.5 inches....keep in mind a stock 4x4 and a stock 2wd do not have the same frame....
