FX4 Shocks on a 4X2 - Clarification

Greetings,

I've been searching for days, trust me. Maybe I'm just missing something.. I have a 2004 Screw 4x2. I want to level the front out a little bit without the use of a leveling kit. I've derived from countless posts I've read here that you can use the front shocks from an FX4 to achieve this. However, I've found conflicting information as to what exactly I will need along with the shocks. According to this thread, the coils are the same, but on many other threads, it is thought that you need the coilover setup AND the shock.

My question: Will the front shocks from an FX4 raise the front of my 4x2 alone, or will I have to get the coilovers as well? What exactly would I need for the swap?

Thanks in advance,

Sean

The front end of the '04+ trucks do not use shocks, they use struts. And converting to 4wd struts should have only a minor lift affect. It would be much better to jsut buy a level kit so you actually do get your 2" of lift.

What's a good way to get added height to the front? I already have a leveling kit, and I want some more lift.

I don't have money for a suspension or BL, and i have the back as high as i want it, how can i go up some in the front?

I have a 2.5" AS on right now.

Thats as high as you are going until you are willing to do a BL or full suspension lift.

Would you be able to install just the struts without having to switch out anything else?
