I do get to have another chance....and I'm going bigger!

I loved my '07 with 6" lift + 35's but after seeing what the 6"+3" combo looks like with 38's....that's my goal for my '01 I just purchased. So far I am really enjoying my '01, seems to be a great truck so far!

If I were keeping the '07, I would've got 4.56 or 4.88 gears. Didn't like the 35's with the 3.73 gears. Probably would've upgraded to a stage II lift for 8" and got 37's eventually also.

the 97-03's look good w/ the 6 and 3 combo, better than most other trucks out there w/ a similar combo.

All kidding aside, I wouldn't change a thing. Although the "street look" works for most, I like the lifted trucks best.

well im glad i never started much, just a body lift and 36's but if i could have done it again id havce left the 33's on there and already have my SAS done.

Now that my IFS is destroyed im pushing ahead with these plans. The truck will go under the knife in febuary. As of right now its just time to lacated axles. 1 tons are best bet but expensive. A built d44hd will do the trick and match up nicely with a 9.75 or 8.8 for the time being.

The lift will come from either custom 10" Leaf springs or 12" Superlift Springs, ill be pushing around 38-40's with 5.13 gears

Dude... if your gona straigh axle your truck. find some super duty axles.. as many people in this area (central florida) put military's on the newer super dutys, there got to be some laying around somewhere.

Yes they are layin around all over the place, and they have pretty hefty price tags.

The Superduty's came with
Front: D60, D50
Rear: 10.25, 10.5

For a set of these axles you are lookin to spend over 1500 and they migth be stock insides.

I want to run 1 ton axles but im not paying the price tag for 1 tons if its gonna be 2k

HOWEVER I did find a set of D60's FRONT AND REAR for 1800 that came with wheels, tires, leaves. The leaves will probably be ditched for som taller ones. Im wanting to run AT LEAST 12" Superlift springs but i migth have some custom made with alittle more lift and slightly stiffer to absorb the engine swap when i get around to doin it.

Take it from someone who has had a 1/2 ton truck straight axled with 1/2 ton axles. ( http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...ks/93ford3.jpg ) you will want 1 ton.

I did my 93 f150 w/ Dana 44 high pinion front and a 9 in rear when i worked for a local 4x4 shop. the 9 in held up fine but, i was always replacing barrings and ball joints in the dana 44.

1/2 ton is fine when your running 35s but not some 18in wide 40's or bigger. The 60's with the King Pins instead of ball joints are the way to go if your planning to go big.

also, you should look into coil overs or coil springs for the front. the 12 inch super lift springs are stiff as hell, and your saying you want to make them even stiffer with more springs.

just some helpful advice from someone who made mistakes w/ past trucks brotha. don't want to see you on this thread again in about a year.

Im definitely runnin leafs.

If i run 12" Superlift springs then thats what ill run i wont be adding springs too them.

If i decide to go another route ill get a used set of 10-15" springs. I need the stiff springs to be ready for my engine swap next year.

Another thing the half ton axle was only to get the truck running again. The later id upgrade to 1tons

as of right now ive found some good deals on 1tons so thats the route i plan on going.

8" SAS on like 36x15.50 claws and 4.88's with a supercharger would be my dream setup. not too tall to be a dd but big and bad enough to impress everyone
