Most everyone has figured out that 2.5 inches is the maximum height you can go. The 3 inch kits leave your ball joints at too severe of an angle to last. I'd suggest the Autospring kit. THey sell them on EBay.

I agree with the autospring. Keep in mind if you plan on going with a suspension lift later on, go with the 2" now. You dont want a 2 1/2" stacked on top of a suspension lift. To bad of an angle for your ball joints, etc.

I just looked up the autospring, and i noticed its made of steel?? Ive been searching for a leveling kit, and i noticed some are alloy?? I live in upper michigan, and they throw down alot of road salt in my area during the winter, would i still be better off with a steel leveling kit???

My Explorer Pro Comp kit was made of polyurethane. The Daystar is also. No metal on metal rubbing. No need to worry about road salt.

Ill look into either, but id rather go with something that im not gonna worry about rotting out in a few years, unless they come with some rubber insulation, or a rubber gasket to go on each side so there is no metal on metal contact...

I have an Autospring 2.5" I would recommend putting a 2" on because my 2.5" ended up setting the front higher than the rear. Ended up putting an AAL to make it sit right.

x2 ^ I have a AS 2" and looks perfect.

We have lots of salt here too. I was going to have them powder coated red but when the opportunity came to install I installed.

I live in southeastern Michigan and have the AS 2.5". Did you know that a powder coated option is available? That is the one I got. I think it cost an additional 12 bucks. I haven't had mine long enough to make any statements as to their durability.

I think im gonna go with the 2.5 because i like that look when the front end sits just a little bit higher then the back end. What part of lower michigan, im from Upper Michigan, home town is escanaba!

I live in sw MI near the IN state line, about 25 min from South Bend, IN. There is plenty of salt out right now, I went with the powdercoated AS 2.5 and the AS AAL which they claim from 1.5-2in of lift in the rear and my truck was lifted 1.75 in the rear. The pc was only $12 and it was done very good.

As for the metal to metal contact that some talk about, there is no issue of that with my truck. The strut tower is tightened down with 3 bolts so I dont see how that would move unless they aren't tightened.

I love my lift, my brother and I did the front in about 1hr 45min for both sides and I did the rear myself in the driveway at night with a snakelight. Instruction were good and the instructions for the front were helpful from this forum with pics.
