Just thought I'd throw in my two cents. I have a 3" level kit currently. I bought it from FatBob's Garage, it came powder coated. There are pictures in my profile. I honestly don't see the big deal w/ the difference between the 2" and 3" level kit as far as the CV angles go - there isn't much difference between the angles on a 2 and 3". But the ball joints are definitely stressed more (in my pics).

As for the metal to metal contact that some talk about, there is no issue of that with my truck. The strut tower is tightened down with 3 bolts so I dont see how that would move unless they aren't tightened.

I love my lift, my brother and I did the front in about 1hr 45min for both sides and I did the rear myself in the driveway at night with a snakelight. Instruction were good and the instructions for the front were helpful from this forum with pics.
I live in West Bloomfield, just northwest of the D. I have a set of AS add-a-leafs in the garage but have been contemplating going with the Ride rite air bags instead because of some of the comments regarding a harsher ride quality with the add-a-leafs. What has been your experience?

They make torsion keys for the 97-03 F150s. The 04-08 F150s don't have torsion bars, so in order to raise the front, you have to use a spacer, or go with an actual lift. But from what I've heard, you shouldnt get a torsion key, it will still put the same stress on your suspension as twisting the torsion bar will (which most guys thing is worth it for the raised height), so why not save a $100 and just crank the torsion bars...

Well, unfortunately, I don't know a whole lot about 2WD's and spacers for the 97-03's.... I would suggest you ask Wandell *Just click on his name right here, and it should take you to his profile* Best of luck

I beleive you're right on... I would just do some google searching, and ebay.... just look around at a few places, honestly, you might find a $50 difference in price if you look at 10 different places, I mean, there's not gonna be a ton of difference between the big suppliers. But your doing the right thing and spending more upfront w/ less hassle later

The best answer in my opinion is the Rough Country 2.5 lift,Doesnt stress out the front suspension and comes with shocks and blocks for the rear.No loss in ride comfort,Much better than the coil spacers on top that I did to my 05.And the price is right for what you get!!!

But it still puts the CV axles at an angle, right? Do you have a photo of what it looks like on your truck and the CV angles? I am looking into replacing my 3" level kit w/ either a 3" PA Body Lift or a smaller level kit w/ rear block or AAL. THANKS!

I live in Grand Rapids, MI i ordered the 2.5 front and a new 3" block for the rear from AS. i am gonna run a 315/70R17 tire which is why he told me to go with the 2.5 and the new block

he said the 07-08 model came higher in the front that the 04-06 so depending on your year you would order the 2.5 for 04-06 and the 2.5 for 07-08. they were very helpful with the whole process
