Best 6 inch lift for 04-08 Ford F150 (PICS)
#16
I got my lift from Josh @ sportstrailerz, but he no longer works there so i dont think that hookup is available anymore.

I run the Fabtech basic lift (liek mSal) and helped him do his install. I think its a MUCH better quality lift. Pro-comp DOES NOT give you new shocks up front. They give you a goofy *** spacer to use your stock setup.
Pro-comp also requires you to stack rear lift blocks. Not the best idea. Also, they are aluminum. Aluminum breaks, steel bends.
Front cross member looks weak and plain on the pro-crap. It give you NO additional ground clearence, and just looks fugly to me. You can run the skid plate, looks nice, costs more, and still lose ground clearence.
Pro-comp seems like an all around better lift. I have the ability to say, I have installed both, and choose fabtech. How many other people on here have actually had their hands on both ? or even their own ?
Oh, and the guys who "rock crawls" his F150.... would love to see pics of that.... Or of ANY IFS new truck "rock crawling".
My tow rig:
But, IMO, the best all around 6" lift is the BDS suspension lift. I think thats what its called. Its the lift that bud88 on this site is running. Best lift out their IMO, but pricey. Also, Camburg offers a GREAT long travel kit, along with some other companies. Those would be the "best". Then comes some kind of solid axle swap. Then, if those are out of the questions, a "lift kit" would work great also.

heres mine, not a lariat, but i have the lariat flares so outside they look close.
i have had no problems with my lift at all. had it for about 12,000 miles and 6 months. drive great. paid $2100 installed. the main reason i went with BDS was the no fine print warranty. they will replace anything you break. no questions asked. they have 2 6" kits. one with spacer and one with a new strut
MT, do you know you heights are measuring to the top of your wheel well? im sitting 46 1/8" on front and rear.

How does your truck ride with the 2.0 autospring stacked with the fabtech lift. I already have the 2.0 and the 1.5 AAL, so I am guessing that my truck would look pretty similar to yours if I decided to lift it. It would be nice to gain those extra inches in the front. Also any more photos on level ground?
Thanks,

So, CST would be the best then, IMO. Thanks for the correction. I don't know the height, but I can go check. Its hear at work today. From the ground to the top of the wheel well ?

Well I decided to go with Procomp cause it was cheaper and I hardly did any offroading....I started to go more often so I decided to buy Fabtech's 2.5 and 2.0 shocks which I love.

I went with the Pro Comp stage 1 6" lift and I couldn't be happier for buying it for only $1200 on ebay. For what I needed it to do, this lift has been more than adequate. Then again, my truck is pretty much just a street queen. I don't really get off on going muddin or "off-roading" with my $40k truck. I'll admit, I just wanted the look, but the Pro Comp will still out perform the stock suspension. While I'm sure the Pro Comp lift isn't quite as capable as the Fabtech, it still gets the job done. Either way, 6" is 6" when it comes to daily driving. If you can justify spending an extra $800 for a Fabtech lift, by all means go for it, but the Pro Comp will be more than enough for me.
