Which 6" lift should I buy?

I have a 2008 f-150 that I want to put a 6" lift on so I can run 35's. I have done quite a bit of research on the various manufacturers and it seems that most people prefer the Fabtech or Procomp lift. How about the Rough Country lift? It is half the price, but with most things in life, are you getting what you pay for or is this a great bang for the buck? Also, I am pretty mechanically inclined, but are these lift kits something that most people can install in their driveway, or is it worth spending the money having a shop install?

if you get the pro comp stg 2 or fabtech stg 2, you can fit 37s if you crank coilovers. Dont get the procomp stg 1 kit, its just a big ole spacer. fabtech stg 1 is ok. Id prefer to get either the stg 2 from either procomp or fabtech. Dont know much about Rough Country lift, cant think of too many people running it on here. If you are pretty good with tools, you can easily install the lift on your own.

I have the Fabtech Basic one. I ordered it through performancelifts.com and recieved it in 4 days. Not only that, but they swapped out the 2" block for the 5" and the longer U-bolts and the longer rear shocks absolutely free. Highly recommend them. 5 stars.

See the other post 07FX4 silver has. I suggest getting your rear springs re-arched and a leaf professionally added. Should be $300. installed or cheaper if you take the leafs to them. Don't stack your blocks if you don't have to. The price of the 5" block will be same as getting your leaf arched and leaf added.

As for what lift. They all do the same thing. They are all good (and basically identical) You get what you pay for. More money and you get a stage II. (no front spacers). If you got the cash, make sure you get new coilovers or the shocks. The PC Stage II give you complete ready to install coil overs. Others you get the shock and use the factory springs and retainers. You can alway upgrade later.

I have the Fabtech stage 2 with the coilovers set from the factory. Still a little more lift left for me to crank them up higher if I want to. On a side note: Fabtech offers a steering stabilizer which fits onto their kits. I have it. I highly recommend it. Since you're spending so much for a kit, you may as well toss in that extra couple of hundred for a better ride.

I have the Fabtech basic, which is awesome because it replaces ALL of your shocks. Most kits just add a fat spacer. I've already abused this kit offroad, and i can tell you it eats up potholes and grated roads like nothing else. The kit also has your truck sitting PERFECTLY level. My fenders are all at the EXACT same height. I am beyond satisfied. For the price, this kit is unbeatable.
